Permit Fee Schedule

A. New Dwelling - (Single)

Land Use / Zoning Permit Fee: $50.00   
Up to 1200 square feet = $600.00 per dwelling
Over 1200 square feet = Add $0.30 per square foot
(Includes: Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical)

Note: If there will be an attached garage or attached carport on the house, then there will be an additional charge of $90.00. There is also a $10.00 North Carolina Homeowners Recovery Fund fee.

Effective July 1, 2022 - A residential plan change fee ($250) will be required for changes made to plans after the initial plan review and approval.

B. Residential - Additions/Remodel

Land Use / Zoning Permit Fee: $12.50

0-400 square feet = $200.00
Over 400 square feet = Add $0.30 per square foot
(Additional $60.00 per trade inspection if any electrical, plumbing, or mechanical)

Effective July 1, 2022 - A residential plan change fee ($250) will be required for changes made to plans after the initial plan review and approval.

C. Multi-Family Dwelling

Land Use / Zoning Permit Fee: Based Commercial Cost *See Commercial Zoning Fee

For the first unit = $500.00 plus $60.00 per trade
For each additional unit = $200.00 plus $60.00 per trade
There is also a $10.00 North Carolina Homeowners Recovery Fund Fee.

D. Mobile Homes

Land Use / Zoning Fee: $50.00

Single-Wide Mobile Homes = $250.00 (Building Only) Additional $35.00 per trade inspection for Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical permits.
Double-Wide Mobile Homes = $275.00 (Building permit only) (Additional $35.00 per trade inspection for electrical, mechanical and plumbing permits)
Triple-Wide Mobile Homes = $300.00 (Building permit only) (Additional $35.00 per trade inspection for electrical, mechanical and plumbing permits)
Quad Mobile Homes = $325.00 (Building permit only) (Additional $35.00 per trade inspection for electrical, mechanical and plumbing permits)

Poured Footing Inspection for all Mobile Homes = $40.00

E. Dwellings Moved On

Land Use / Zoning Permit Fee: $50.00

Fee = $200.00
(Additional $60.00 fee per trade inspection if any Electrical, Plumbing, or Mechanical)

F. Residential Accessory Building

Land Use / Zoning Permit Fee: $12.50

Storage Building = $100.00
Garage/Carport = $100.00
Deck/Gazebo = $60.00
(Additional $60.00 per trade inspection if any Electrical, Plumbing, or Mechanical permits)

G: Trade Inspections

Building, Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical = $60.00 each ($1.00 Building, if no building permits exists.)

H. Farm Storage Buildings

No Fee. A permit is required with a copy the Farm ID Number.  Cost for P,M&E's    

I. Permit Fee for Commercial Projects

Effective July 1, 2022 - An initial $1,000 fee is due at the time of submittal for commercial plan review for projects over $500,000 (the $1,000 would be credited to the total permit fee at permit issuance).

For all commercial projects, there is a fee for each trade based on the total job cost of that trade. See table below. 

For projects over $1,000,000, multiply the remaining job cost by .002 (.2%) plus $6,853.
