Notice of Public Hearing

 

            The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in the Commissioners’ Room, Johnston County Courthouse Annex, 207 E. Johnston Street, Smithfield, North Carolina, on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 10:15 a.m. or as soon thereafter as possible. 

 

            The purpose of the public hearing is to provide the public an opportunity to address the Board on a proposed abandonment of a portion of SR 1524 (Old Drug Store Road) and the addition of a new portion of SR 1524 (Old Drug Store Road).  A petition by the current landowners was submitted to the NC Department of Transportation with the proposed request due to the relocation of SR 1524 as part of a safety improvement project to improve the intersection of NC 50 and SR 1524.  The NC DOT is asking the County to concur with the request.  A copy of the petition and map of the area are available in the Clerk to the Board’s office for public inspection.

Notice of Public Hearing

 

            The Chairman of the Johnston County Board of Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing for Monday, December 7, 2009, at 10:20 a.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Johnston County Courthouse, Smithfield, NC.

 

            The purpose of the public hearing is to solicit public comment on a proposal for the County to provide certain economic incentives, pursuant to NCGS 158-7.1, to a company that is planning the expansion of a facility in the Clayton, Johnston County, North Carolina area.  The County proposes to provide economic grants to the company over a ten year period of time.  The project will provide additional tax base to the County, and could provide a number of new job opportunities.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

 

The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will conduct Rezoning Petition and Special Use Permit Application Public Hearings for the following cases on Monday, December 7, 2009 following public comments and other public hearings beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Commissioners Room, Johnston County Courthouse, Smithfield, North Carolina.  After each rezoning case is heard, the rezoning public hearing, which is a legislative hearing, will be recessed and the Board will render a decision.  In the case of special use district rezoning, the special use hearing will be heard before reopening the hearing for the next case.  The special use hearing is a quasi-judicial hearing where the Board is sitting as judges and will hear factual evidence as testimony.

 

CASE 09-16:  Rezoning Petition : Petition to rezone 1 acre located at 133 Memory Lane in Elevation Township from Agricultural Residential (AR) to Agricultural Residential-Special Use District (AR-SUD). Tax ID: 07D07010D   Owner: Martin and Dora Rojas  Applicant: Dora Rojas

 

                          Special Use Permit: To allow for the operation of child day care facility.

                                  NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Monday, December 7, 2009, in the Commissioners’ meeting room, Johnston County Courthouse Annex, Smithfield, NC 27577.  The hearing will follow the Rezoning and Special Use Hearings and other Public Hearings, which begin at 6:00 p.m.

 

The purpose of the public hearing is to consider public comment on the possible amendments to the Land Development Code and the corresponding sections of the Design Manual as it relates to open space regulations.
