Public Notice - Fire Tax Committee Meeting Public Hearing Notice - June Rezoning Cases Public Hearing Notice - Code of Ordinance Amendment Public Hearing Notice - FY 2013-2014 Budget ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Notice The Fire Tax Committee of the Johnston County Board of Commissioners will be meeting on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Emergency Operations Center at the Johnston County Courthouse (Law Enforcement Center) located at 120 S. Third Street, Smithfield. The purpose of the meeting is to review fire district tax increase requests from several fire departments. Please note this is a committee meeting and does not constitute a quorum of the Johnston County Board of Commissioners; therefore, no action by the Board of Commissioners will be taken. The purpose of the Fire Tax Committee is to review fire district tax increase requests and make recommendations to the full Board of County Commissioners for consideration during the FY 2013-2014 budget adoption. Woodard, Clerk to the Board ___________________________________________________________________________________________ NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will conduct Rezoning Petition and Special Use Permit Application Public Hearings for the following cases on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Commissioners Room, Johnston County Courthouse, Smithfield, North Carolina. After each rezoning case is heard, the rezoning public hearing, which is a legislative hearing, will be recessed and the Board will render a decision. In the case of special use district rezonings, the special use hearing will be heard before reopening the hearing for the next case. The special use hearing is a quasi-judicial hearing where the Board is sitting as judges and will hear factual evidence as testimony. CASE 13-05: Rezoning Petition : Petition to rezone a 1.18 acre tract located at 582 Old Drug Store Road in Cleveland Township from Agricultural Residential (AR) to Community Business (CB). Tax ID : 06D01015E. The public may obtain additional information on the above rezoning and special use cases through the Johnston County Planning and Zoning Department located at 309 E. Carver, Chairman ___________________________________________________________________________________________ NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 3, 2013 at the 6:00 p.m. meeting, in the Commissioners Meeting Room, Johnston County Courthouse Annex, Smithfield, NC 27577. The hearing will follow the Rezoning and Special Use Hearings which begin at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment and discussion on a proposed amendment to the Johnston County Code of Ordinances Chapter 14 – Land Development Code, as it relates to an Erosion and Sediment Control Ordinance that would be added to the Land Development Code. Woodard, Clerk ___________________________________________________________________________________________ PUBLIC HEARING Pursuant to NCGS § 159-12, the Johnston County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed 2013-2014 County Budget on Monday, June 3, 2013 during the 10:00 a.m. regular meeting held in the Commissioners’ meeting room, Johnston County Courthouse Annex, Smithfield, NC 27577. The hearing will begin immediately following any public comments, or as soon thereafter as possible. The purpose of the Public Hearing is for the County Manager to present the proposed budget and solicit public comment. A copy of the proposed Budget has been submitted to the Board and is available in the Office of the Clerk to the Board for public inspection.
