Firework Safety- Safety Tips

1. Watch out for children

Never let your child play with or ignite fireworks.

- Children under 5 account for OVER HALF of firework injuries

- Sparklers can burn at 1,200 to 2,000 F

 

2. Be aware at all times

Be conscious of your surroundings when using fireworks.

- NEVER put yourself or another person in the path of a firework, and don't point them at vehicles, houses, or trees

 

3. Avoid burns and injuries

Know when you shouldn't light or touch a firework.

- NEVER re-light or pick up a firework that did not fully ignite

- AVOID picking up firework debris as it could burn you
