Severe Weather Preparedness 2022: Notifications, Pt. 1

Staying informed can be the difference between life and death during an emergency. How do you plan on staying connected? What is your BACK-UP PLAN?

NOAA Weather Radio

  • A 24/7 radio station exclusively for weather updates. Requires a special NOAA weather radio to tune in. We RECOMMEND having one for your Go-Bag.

Battery/Crank Powered Radio

  • When the power is out or your phone is dead, a battery/crank powered radio may be your only safe way to stay connected. We RECOMMEND having one in your Go-Bag along with extra batteries.

Television and Cell Phones

  • As long as power and cell service are available, information is easily accessible via news channels, emergency alerts, and websites. HAVE A BACK-UP PLAN for communications, whether it be a NOAA Radio or Battery/Crank Radio. CHARGE your phone and electronic devices before a storm occurs.
