Bailey and Sarah Williamson Nature Preserve Ribbon Cutting

Triangle Land Conservancy (TLC) has been a great asset and partner with Johnston County Parks and Open Space. A joint effort from Johnston County Parks and Open Space, Town of Clayton Parks and Recreation, Wake County Parks and Recreation, North Carolina State Parks, and North Carolina Land and Water Trust Fund was a part of the acquisition and funding for the creation of this property. Stretching over county lines between Wake and Johnston counties, the Williamson Nature Preserve provides 8 miles of hiking and biking for residents, along with a connection to the Clayton Neuse River Walk, which is part of the East Coast Greenway and Mountains-to-Sea Trail.

On top of the official ribbon cutting for the nature preserve as a whole, TLC announced the grand opening of the Bootlegger Trail, which connects to the Clayton Neuse River Walk on the backside of the preserve. This trail is hiking only and provides beautiful views of quiet forests and trickling creek beds.

A special thanks to all of the guests that attended this historical event and partnership. Triangle Land Conservancy continues to provide the county with amazing hikes, farming opportunities, and leisure spaces for all residents.
