The Hazard Mitigation plan is required by federal and state legislation. Hazard mitigation planning is a collaborative process whereby hazards affecting the community are identified (i.e., tornado, hurricane), vulnerability to the hazards is assessed, and consensus reached on how to minimize or eliminate the effects of these hazards.
