Building Permit Process

Find out when and why a Building Permit is required.

1. Do you have the site address?
• NO: Contact Planning and Zoning.
• YES: Proceed to Step Two.
2. Does this address have well water?
   • NO: Apply for County Water Service.
   • YES: Obtain a Well/Septic Permit.
3. Call to obtain a Zoning Permit.
4. Do you have a Site Plan?
5. • NO: View the Site Plan Example, then proceed to Step Five.
   • YES: Does it meet the Site Plan Requirements?
   • • NO: View the Site Plan Example, and the Site Plan Requirements then proceed to Step Five.
     • YES: Proceed to Step Five.
6. Complete the Residential Plan Review and Permit Application.
7. Submit all documents to Building Inspections.
8. Allow 7 to 10 business days for review.
