NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Johnston County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in the County Commissioners' Meeting Room, located in the Johnston County Courthouse, 207 East Johnston Street, Smithfield, North Carolina 27577 at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024. The meeting will be livestreamed on the Johnston County Government YouTube Channel.

The purpose of the hearing is to hear the views of the residents of Johnston County on the proposal to abolish existing fire protection service districts and to establish a new, single, countywide fire protection service district.

A report containing information relating to the proposal is linked below. This report may also be viewed at the Office of the Clerk to the Board, 207 E. Johnston Street, Smithfield, North Carolina during regular business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Following the public hearing, the Board of Commissioners will consider a Resolution to abolish the existing fire protection service districts and to establish a new fire protection service district.
