The animal shelter is partnering with a local rescue on a community cat program to help reduce outdoor cat nuisance behaviors, address overpopulation, and keep cats out of the shelter
Outdoor (community) cats will be sprayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ear-tipped. An ear tip is a universal sign that a community cat has been sprayed or neutered. After recovery, the cats are returned to the area they call home and the population decreases over time.
Spraying and neutering solves many nuisance behaviors. For other unwanted behaviors, we will help provide deterrents.
