Online Passport Renewal (OPR)

Online Passport Renewal (OPR) is now available to the American public. Applicants who meet the requirements can now renew their passports online at their convenience and from the comfort of their own home. Applicants can see a full list of requirements at travel.state.gov/renewonline.

It’s still important for applicants to plan and apply for their passport well in advance of travel for both OPR and regular mail-in passport renewal service.

Please note that applicants applying on DS-11s will still need to have their applications executed before an acceptance agent at an acceptance facility.

 

Updated Routine Processing Times

Customers who apply on or after October 3, 2024 using routine service should be processed within 4-6 weeks.
