Notice: Click here to view the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Information. The fourth and latest draft of Johnston County’s proposed UDO is available to view online. Johnston County residents have three more chances to help shape the County’s proposed UDO. The first is a public hearing before the Johnston County Planning Board, which will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Courthouse in Smithfield. To hear as many voices as possible, the Planning Board will continue its Oct. 20 public hearing at 6 p.m. Oct. 26, also at the Courthouse. The Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at the Courthouse. Commissioners could adopt the UDO two weeks later, at their 6 p.m. meeting on Nov. 16.
